Of course, you may use the cutter with no caps or with missing caps. No problem as it does not effect the performance of the cutter. However, the caps provide protection for the bolt head and create an amazing "look".
Please assure that you watch the "Wire Replacement and Tightening Video" below prior to beginning to replace your bolt as you need to re-wire as well. While it is not complicated or hard, it is a process.
